David’s TV experience takes him across Europe and North America as director and presenter of business profiles, talking to business leaders, for broadcast on Euronews, Star TV and CNBC.
Interviewing is one of David’s strengths. He co-hosted the consumer affairs programme HIGH STREET for Granada TV: for Channel Five’s Espresso his companion on the couch was Edwina Currie. Corporate clients include Qinetiq, TDK, Sainsbury’s, Boots, Nikken, IVCA, MFI, Orange, Digital, and CII.
David Vickery has been speaking in public since he was five years old, leading to his love of live performance. He gained a BA Honours Degree in Film and Drama (with History) from the University of Reading, followed by post-graduate training as an actor at the prestigious Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, South Wales. A career in theatre led him to television.
His sustained career in the presentation departments of most major UK broadcasters includes Channel Four, Discovery Channel and BBC World Service TV. David’s was the voice which opened Channel Five.
Television from behind the microphone quickly turned into hosting in front of the camera. David enjoyed huge local recognition in the South of England as host of the TVS overnight service Late Night Late onto which he invited guests from all walks of life for a decidedly subversive take on the world.
He also sported suit and tie to anchor TVS News thereafter hosting quiz, consumer, factual, arts and entertainment programmes for BBC TV, Granada TV, BSB, Channel Five and Discovery Channel. Hosting live events at the London Palladium, Alexandra Palace and The Grosvenor House gives David some of the greatest pleasure, and highlights in his career. David hosted the Awards for LIVECOM – the annual ceremony for leading live events producers.
A leading voiceover artist and broadcaster, David has voiced over 1650 television documentaries for National Geographic, Discovery, History Channel, Channel 5, Biography Channel and Crime and Investigation Network.
His voice is best described as warm, educated, light, silky, emotive and authoritative.
